MEP engineering design for new 2-1/2 story library that replaced an existing 5,000 SF facility. The new building is 13,600 SF and incorporates “green building” design elements (energy, water and lighting efficiency).

The building has a geothermal heating and cooling system. The system incorporates transpired solar collectors to temper outside air and desuperheaters on heat pumps for tempering domestic hot water.

Utilizes a passive solar design to harness natural light which is supplemented with high efficiency lighting both inside and out. Lighting design incorporates energy efficient fluorescent light fixtures controlled by a combination of daylight sensor switches and occupancy sensor switches.

Plumbing design utilizes waterless urinals and sensor controlled faucets.
