Foundational Relationships: Banta Campbell

Throughout this year, Allen & Shariff is taking the time to acknowledge and appreciate the foundational business relationships that we have developed during our first 25 years. As we pause to spend time with our valued friends and partners, we are taking the time to share a little about who they are, the work we’ve done together, and why we’re proud to know them.

Banta Campbell Architects, Inc. (BCA) is a full-service architectural design firm dedicated to helping clients achieve their vision. Through collaboration, expertise, and innovation, they offer unique solutions to meet each client’s specific goals and technical requirements. The firm is also committed to minimizing the environmental footprint of every building they design.

Because of their depth of experience and relationships with valued partners like Allen & Shariff, BCA has the capabilities to take a project from initial concepting to permitting, construction to grand opening, and beyond. Allen & Shariff is proud to play a part in that process.

“Since our first project together, we’ve had a successful partnership,” said Senior Vice President David Van der Vossen. “We get each other. We share values, a commitment to clients and sustainability, and we work well together. Partnering with Banta Campbell is a no-brainer.”

The firms have partnered on numerous projects over the years. Here are a few examples that represent our relationship.

Eldersburg Commons – Sykesville, MD
Eldersburg Commons is a 90,617 square foot retail shopping center shell and tenant finish out project. Allen & Shariff provided MEP shell building design for multiple mixed-use tenant buildings. Design included gas-fired / DX cooling roof-top units, supply and return ductwork terminated with burglar bars, and smoke detectors where required. In addition, Allen & Shariff’s work included designing the main electrical distribution to tenant panels with egress/emergency and strip fixture lighting; plumbing rough-ins for future restrooms, with a separate grease system for potential restaurant tenants; performance spec for sprinkler systems, and LED site lighting for the complete shopping center.

BAE Systems A & IT – Columbia, MD
Allen & Shariff provided MEP & IT engineering services for this project of approximately 1,300 square feet of renovated office space. The scope of work included splitting larger rooms into multiple smaller units. The newly-divided units contain a small server room, dedicated 3-ton air conditioning unit, and additional modifications as needed.
