Wicomico Middle School

Allen + Shariff provided MEP engineering design for Wicomico Middle School, a $2 Million HVAC replacement project. The project utilized packaged gas-fired roof top units to serve the areas with classroom unit ventilators. Ductwork distribution was arranged to minimize impact on academic space allocations, and the replacement boiler was downsized based on lowered steam/hot water load. The second and third floor classrooms included the addition of two RTU’s, zoned by exposure, and the first floor cafeteria and kitchen received new grade mounted RTU’s, connected to existing distribution ductwork, to minimize disruption within the building.
