Allen + Shariff provided engineering services for UPMC Children’s hospital of Pittsburgh, to replace their existing medical air compressors that serve the hospital.

The hospital had two existing medical air compressors on the 3rd and 11th floor. A+S was able to replace each air compressor with a quadraplex reciprocating air plant. The system was designed to have full redundancy, Both compressors can serve the entire hospital by itself. Cross connections were also installed during the project to allow for the redundancy.
