Pemberton Elementary Chiller Replacement

Allen + Shariff provided mechanical and electrical engineering services for the replacement of the two (2) grade-level chillers at Pemberton Elementary School. The school was built in 1950 and serves three programs: Traditional grades Pre-K – 5, Judy Center Y3/Pre-K/K, and one modified self-contained special education classroom.

The scope of work and design was limited to the area of the chillers. The $358K project included air-cooled screw compressor liquid chillers with variable speed drive installed on elastomeric pads. Heat trace was provided to prevent pipe contents from freezing (FM approved, 12-volt, 1-phase, 10-watt per linear foot). All existing control sensors, controllers, and other components were retained, reinstalled, and reused for the installation. The project included replacement of the existing chilled water pumps and construction administration services.
