PCORI – Pathogen Analysis (Multiple Sites)
Allen + Shariff provided mechanical engineering services to review and identify mechanical system considerations specifically focused on minimizing transmission of viruses in the workplace. PCORI (Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute) was established to fund research that can help patients and those who care for them make better-informed decisions about the healthcare choices they face every day.
The projects included the existing condition review and analysis of the HVAC system supporting the individual tenant spaces being considered by PCORI. The analysis is limited to pathogen control methodology. The basis of the study is based on the evolving recommendations of ASHRAE, IES, CDC & the WHO. The three major steps/responses recommended and that were reviewed include ventilation, filtration, and air sanitization.
