Allen + Shariff provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering design services for the development of Oakwood Senior Housing, a new multi-family building located in Alexandria, Virginia. This VHDA-financed, affordable housing project consisted of a 150,000 square foot, four-story apartment building with 150 units, central laundries, and ground floor amenity spaces. The MEP systems included dedicated outside air systems (DOAS) for mechanical ventilation, 16 SEER air-cooled split systems, and an emergency generator. The fire protection included standpipes, wet-pipe fire suppression, and fire alarm systems. The project is EarthCraft certified.
