Mariner’s Bethel Youth Ministry

Allen + Shariff provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing engineering for this 13,000 SF addition project. The Hope Center is a new multipurpose hall which can accommodate up to 400 people and sporting events. The $3.8M center will provide additional space for church activities and outreach, meeting rooms, classrooms, computer lab, stage, cafe, storage areas, and is available for community activities.

A propane gas tank was utilized to serve domestic water heating, comfort heat, and kitchen cooking equipment. Domestic hot water is generated by three (3) on-demand condensing gas fired water heaters that serve the entire facility; a hot water maintenance pump was included to circulate and maintain hot water supply temperature at 120°F.

To maintain adequate domestic water pressure, a booster pump was sized to accommodate the required pressures and flow during a high demand usage occurrence; this included the gang restrooms and the moderately sized kitchen.

A performance-based sprinkler design ascertained that the site pressure and flow of the fire line main did not require a fire pump booster to provide the required NFPA fire protection coverage of the building.
