Heinz Field—Pittsburgh Steelers Stadium

Heinz Field’s horseshoe-shaped design takes full advantage of the stadium’s riverfront site. The open south end frames Point State Park, Mount Washington and views of the rivers, and the stadium’s upper concourses offer dramatic views of downtown and the city’s urban skyline.

For this project, Allen + Shariff teamed with RMF, Inc. in designing the new professional football stadium. The Steelers Stadium was built adjoining the previous Three Rivers Stadium in downtown Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Our scope of work on this project included raceway system design to accommodate multiple special systems, including the complete design for fire alarm systems, public telephone and data lines, news and broadcasting cabling, sSatellite and microwave, distributed television, a matrix Scoreboard, a video scoreboard and control room, a sound and public address system, temperature and lighting controls, and security administration systems.
