Throughout this year, Allen & Shariff is taking the time to acknowledge and appreciate the foundational business relationships that we have developed during our first 25 years. As we pause to spend time with our valued friends and partners, we are taking the time to share a little about who they are, the work we’ve done together, and why we’re proud to know them.

NEXT architecture is a full service architectural and interior design company and long-time friend of Allen & Shariff. Like Allen & Shariff, NEXT takes pride in the ability to provide clients with a broad range of experience, a strong work ethic, and the commitment to service for each and every project.

For NEXT architecture and Allen & Shariff, it’s always about the relationship, both between our two firms and with the client. We focus on creating and maintaining lasting client relationships. As we strive to hear and meet the needs, budgets, and visions of our clients, we support each other through a strong relationship that is both professional and personal. Allen & Shariff worked with current NEXT Principal and Owner Dan Delisio on the first project for our Pittsburgh office, thought he was with another company at that time.

“It is important for us to have partners as we weave our way through the ups and downs of this business,” said Delisio. “That started many years ago with Zack. We said from the beginning that we would always be honest with each other and worked hard to build a friendship in addition to a great working relationship. Any time we have an issue we talk about it, share the pain of lost potential projects and enjoy the victories. That is a rare thing and why 25 years together is only part of the journey.”

Clarion Biotechnology Center
Allen & Shariff provided MEP engineering design services and energy modeling/LEED services for this three-story, 23,000 square foot building. The electrical and HVAC systems conserve energy through sophisticated controls and recovery systems, and the white vinyl roof material contains a high reflectivity coefficient, which reduces the “Heat Island Effect” and cooling loads on the HVAC unit. As a result, the project is LEED Gold (Core & Shell).

ANSYS
Allen & Shariff provided MEP/FP systems, telecommunications, security, and audio visual design services for the ANSYS tenant fit-out project in the new headquarters building located in Southpointe. The space, which is 185,000 square feet on five contiguous floors, contains both private and open offices, rooms for support functions, conference rooms, and a cafeteria/kitchen facility.

Rice Energy
Allen & Shariff provided MEP/FP engineering design services for a 150,000 square foot renovation project in the Southpointe II Business Park. The interior floor layout included several different work style modes in an open plan, with design that incorporated classic finishes in a contemporary application. This project was the winner of the 2016 Electric League of Western PA, Excellence in Lighting Award.
