Allen & Shariff provided MEP services for multiple facilities for the Columbia Association in Howard County, MD

The Supreme Sports Club is a full service athletic facility including basketball courts, running track, swimming pool, aerobic areas, free weights, nautilus equipment, and racquet ball courts. Provided special MEP systems design for renovations and upgrades to the locker room and basketball courts at the sports club. Also Providing M/E/P engineering consulting and design services for the application of a packaged natural gas powered 65 kW micro turbine to offset a portion of the building’s current electrical utility load while using the waste heat from the generator for the production of domestic hot water.

At the Swim Center, Allen & Shariff renovated and upgraded the existing HVAC systems.  A complete new dehumidification system for indoor pool was also added.  The system included state-of-the-art energy water conservation equipment that supported the pool, locker room and office areas.

The Athletic Club project required that Allen & Shariff redesign existing fire alarm system and add a handicapped lift to bring them into ADA compliance.  Also designed the upgrade and replacement of their existing electrical service switchboards and service transformers. In 2013 we designed the boiler replacement,  lobby and racquetball court HVAC renovations and VRV HVAC design for tennis mezzanine and cycling room in the Athletic Club.

River Hill Community Center is a new 5,000 SF building which houses the offices of the River Hill Community Association and provides a space for activities for all age groups.  The center includes a multi-purpose room, meeting rooms, offices and a kitchen.  Designed the new mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems for this $750,000 project.

Designed the complete MEP/FP systems for the Bryant Woods Community Center.  The project involved renovation of the community center after a fire. Replacement of the HVAC system, lighting and upgrading of the fire alarm system, as well as, performing a site survey and mechanical/electrical load calculations were included in the scope of work.
