Allen + Shariff provided mechanical and electrical engineering services for the replacement of the cooling towers serving the circuit courthouse for Wicomico County. The existing cooling towers, located at 125 North Division Street in Salisbury, MD, were originally installed in 1990. The new cooling towers are high efficiency induced draft counter flow type towers, with variable frequency drives provided for the fans. Ultra-quiet operation was included in the design due to a courtroom being located directly below the towers. New cooling tower control panels were provided as well as integration into the existing building automation system. The structural support platform was modified for the new tower footprint and weights.
