Mt Pleasant Library

This renovation turned the existing two-story Mt. Pleasant Public Library into a 21st Century state-of-the-art neighborhood library. This historic Italian Renaissance-style building stands in the Mt. Pleasant National Register Historic District, which was designated in 1987. Allen & Shariff led the MEP design with a goal of maintaining the historical elements of the structure. The renovation included overhauling two stories of the 16,400 square foot building, along with an addition of a 5,000 square foot addition. The project received a Merit Award in Historic Resources and is being considered for LEED certification.
