Bad Monkey Bar & Grill

Allen + Shariff oversaw the MEP engineering design for this new two-story restaurant, located in Ocean City, MD. The building, which spans approximately 9,200 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, includes a retail shop and bakery on the first floor, with the bar and grille on the second.

The domestic plumbing was designed to be served from the municipal water service at the street. The domestic hot water system utilized a highly efficient water heater to provide hot water throughout the duration of the project. The interior lighting includes high efficiency LED lighting and energy savings controls. The exterior lighting was designed using energy efficient pole mounted fixtures for parking areas, and LED ground mounted bollards and wall mounted sconces were added to illuminate ground level walkways.

The building design included a fire alarm system with pull stations by doors, and visual and audible notification devices. HVAC equipment consists of three rooftop units, the kitchens are conditioned by two makeup air units/exhaust fan pairs, and condenser units were provided for pre heating the 100% outside air. Exhaust fans for air circulation and a dedicated split system were also added to condition the elevator equipment room.
