Allen + Shariff provided Project and Construction Management services for the design of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA). The Al Ain Hospital is a 358,000 square meter space, with 713 beds, and an underground parking facility for 1,500 cars. The new state-of-the-art acute hospital was designed in line with German building standards, which are among the most stringent in the world, and its clinical services will meet European healthcare standards.
Out of the 713 beds, 150 beds will be dedicated for rehabilitation. Being built on the theme of a ‘Healing Oasis’, the new facility was designed to combine the friendliness of an oasis village with state-of-the-art medical services. Allen & Shariff was responsible for the design of multiple sectors, including mother and child family medicine unit, specialized trauma unit, orthopedics and sports-medicine units, the Regional Center of Excellence in Rehabilitation Medicine unit, a 40 bed critical care unit, a dedicated stroke unit (the first ever in the UAE), a high-tech cardiology unit, and a research and training center for healthcare professionals.
