Throughout this year, Allen & Shariff is taking the time to acknowledge and appreciate the foundational business relationships that we have developed during our first 25 years. As we pause to spend time with our valued friends and partners, we are taking the time to share a little about who they are, the work we’ve done together, and why we’re proud to know them.

Here’s what RSSC Architecture claims are their core values: being attentive, committed, collaborative, creative, and community-focused. At Allen & Shariff, we don’t just admire those values – it’s the way we conduct our business as well. Allen & Shariff’s partnership with RSSC works because both firms believe in listening to the client, building consensus, and taking a collaborative approach with community partners and stakeholders.

Allen & Shariff and RSSC implement practical, sustainable materials and design practices, ensuring that the present and future needs of the client are met, and that projects stay within each client’s budget. As a result, the scope of RSSC’s practice can serve a variety of public facilities or private developments, and a range of industries from corporate to nonprofit, municipal to retail.

“The reason our partnership works so well,” said Allen & Shariff’s Pittsburgh office senior vice president David Price, “is that we share a similar approach to our work where the client always comes first, and the end goal is a satisfactory outcome for all involved with the project, from owner to architect to engineer to contractor.”

Here is a representative example of the work RSSC and Allen & Shariff have partnered on over the years.

Peters Township Library
Allen & Shariff provided MEP engineering design services for an addition to the Peters Township Public Library. The two-story 4,840 square foot expansion includes increased capacity, a young adult room to accommodate more programs and materials for teens, a local history room, and a seminar room dedicated to educational programming. The second level contains reference and stack areas, offices, quiet study rooms, and a formal meeting room with fireplace and living room accommodations.

South Strabane Police Station
Allen & Shariff provided MEP, FP, and technology engineering design for a 6,000 square foot freestanding building that houses 19 officers, lockers rooms, an exercise room, and lower level rooms for storing files and evidence.

Cranberry Township Municipal Center
Allen & Shariff provided MEP, FP, and security systems engineering design services for a phased renovation to the 28,000 square foot municipal center that houses the township administration offices, sewer and water customer services, the police department, a senior center, public library, the Center for Early Education, and the parks and recreation department.
